Terms of Use

Last updated: October 27, 2026

These terms apply to your use of the Murmur app. By downloading or using Murmur you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to apps from the App Store.

1. License

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Murmur on Apple devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it.

2. Your content

Your recordings, imports and transcripts belong to you and stay on your device, or in your own private iCloud if you turn on iCloud sync. You are responsible for the content you record and for having the right to record and transcribe it. Recording other people may be regulated by law where you live, for example by requiring their consent.

3. Free use and Murmur Pro

Murmur is free to use for the first 2 minutes of each note. Murmur Pro unlocks the rest of each note, together with summaries, export and editing. Pro is available as:

Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may differ by country.

4. Subscriptions

5. Restoring purchases

You can restore earlier purchases at any time using Restore purchases in the app, with the same Apple ID.

6. Accuracy

Transcripts and summaries are produced automatically and can contain mistakes, especially with noisy audio, accents, names or technical terms. Check anything important before you rely on it. Do not use Murmur as the only record for medical, legal, safety or financial decisions.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Murmur to break the law, to record people without any consent that the law requires, or to harm others.

8. No warranty

Murmur is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

9. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, arising from your use of Murmur. Because your data stays on your device (and your own iCloud, if you use sync, which is not a backup: deleting a note on one device deletes it on the others), please keep your own backups of recordings you cannot afford to lose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

10. Changes

We may update these terms and the app. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date above. Continuing to use Murmur after a change means you accept it.
